Damen Yachting has delivered the support vessel YS 7512, now known as Abeona after a Roman goddess of outward journeys and safe returns. The order for the vessel, supposedly from Jeff Bezos, but the information wasn’t confirmed, was received in 2019. The model features customized in-house design based on the YS 75 model in the Damen Yacht Support range. The project on behalf of the client was supervised by Wright Maritime Group. In January Abeona arrived in Gibraltar after successful sea trials in December. The 75-meter vessel has a beam of 12 meters and a volume of approximately 1,900 GT. She features a helicopter hangar with a D14 value, has state-of-the-art environmental equipment and capacity for containerised emergency relief support equipment together with a wide range of specialized marine gear and tenders. The vessel will be able to accommodate up to 45 people including crew, specialist staff and guests.She has a top speed of 18 knots and a range of 5,000 miles at 15 knots. Damen Yachting, a division within the Damen Shipyards Group, was created in 2019. Swan Shadow (Hull #114) will be showcased at the Miami International Boat Show, which will be held from February 15th to 19th.Swan Shadow is a multipurpose motor yacht concept able to reach a performance of up to 55 knots top speed. The design of Shadow incorporates features that customers might generally expect to see in larger full-custom or semi-custom yachts, features that are not too common in 40-foot powerboats. One of these features is a movable aft platform, transforming a visually simple design from a fixed platform to a swim platform or a passerelle. Another design feature is the addition of optional telescopic roof pillars and moving glass panels to create a convertible cabin. This allows the boat to be used either fully open or closed for privacy and comfort during bad weather. Swan Shadow has been conceived to easily accommodate an overnight or weekend trip to the archipelago.At the show, there will be the opportunity to experience a virtual reality tour of the new motor yacht, "Swan OverShadow," which is based on the high-performing hull of the Swan Shadow. After a recent extensive refit from 2020 through to Spring 2023 at Monaco Marine, Synthesis 66 saw a full rebuild of her bridge deck aft, a full repaint, all new teak decking, an overhaul of all her mechanical systems. Her interior was also rebuilt under the supervision of Boutsen, Monaco. The redesign retained many of her original elements, including her beautiful woodwork.
