65m Performance Ketch To Be Built by Royal Huisman
The joint team of Royal Huisman, Dykstra Naval Architects and Mark Whiteley Design has announced the newbuild agreement for a 65m performance ketch rigged sailing yacht.A period of concept design and development by the experienced owners’ team, architects and builder has been successfully completed and signed off at the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show. The creation of this stunning superyacht is now focused on multidisciplinary design and engineering, which are the subsequent steps of Royal Huisman’s efficient Stage Gate process project management and Concurrent Engineering approach. This will bring the project to readiness for the next big step: the start of the construction at Royal Huisman’s newbuild facilities in Vollenhove, The Netherlands. One of the main areas of focus for this ketch rigged sailing yacht is the optimisation of performance: Alustar aluminium construction, carbon rig, and an integrated sailing system by Rondal have been specified to enhance winning potential on the superyacht regatta circuit.“We are honoured that this client has entrusted Royal Huisman with the realisation of his dream – a truly beautiful and unique yacht. Two Explorer Superyachts Sold at the Cannes Yachting Festival by CdM
CdM has sold two explorer yachts during the Cannes Yachting Festival – a 43m EXP 42 and a 35m RJ115. The EXP 42 was sold to a repeat client from central America. The EXP 42 exterior was made by Francesco Paszkowski, who previously worked on the shipyard's MG line. The yacht will have full-height windows and a displacement steel hull and light aluminium superstructure. RJ115 is a new concept designed – an Explorer yacht fashioned to provide extreme seaworthiness combined with the top elegance. The RJ line of luxury explorer yachts combines a great wealth of exterior spaces with a real go-anywhere, do-anything expedition pedigree. Her exterior was also made by Francesco Paszkowski, who drew the elegant and timeless yacht. CdM’s story begins in 2010. Since 2015, the shipyard is the world’s leading builder of explorer yachts. 72m Azteca Listed For Sale and Now Accepting Bitcoin
The superyacht Azteca now can be purchased with bitcoin. Azteca was built in 2010 by CRN for a highly experienced owner. At the time of launch, Azteca was the largest vessel ever constructed by Ancona shipyard CRN. The 72m yacht was listed for sale for the first time in August and has an asking price of EUR 65,000,000. Her owner, a renowned supporter of cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, has recently announced that he will accept full payment for the yacht in the digital currency. Although cryptocurrency transactions are starting to be reported in the industry, the announcement makes Azteca the largest yacht ever available to be purchased with bitcoin, it is believed.She is listed for sale with both Camper and Nicholsons and Edmiston and will be on display at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, taking place in the principality between September 22nd and 25th.Credits: Camper and Nicholsons
50m Custom Explorer To Be Built by JFA Yacht
French shipbuilder JFA Yachts has announced the construction of a 50m custom explorer yacht for worldwide family cruises. The 50m aluminium explorer is the first motor yacht in the JFA shipyard built with an aluminium hull and a superstructure partially in composite glass epoxy. The naval architecture and exterior styling are entrusted to the UK-based studio Humphreys Yacht Design. “The design has benefitted from a highly integrated approach to marry all the technical, functional and client specific requirements and underpinned through a rigorous naval architecture effort where intensive CFD work was ultimately validated by one of the most comprehensive model testing programs,” says Tom Humphreys. The new explorer will have a light displacement, hybrid propulsion, stabilizer fins combined with a large gyro, capacity to carry sizable tenders and multiple toys. The life inside will be open on the exterior with a lot of glass and large outside areas. The interior design comes from Milan-based M2 atelier.A2B Marine Projects is heading up the client’s team and Christian Poorte, the client’s project manager remarks: “To work so closely with the client and understand his wishes, the search for the right team and shipyard is a very important journey. Building a yacht is not simply asking for a building slot, but it requires a solid base for a multi-year collaboration on all levels within a shipyard organization. The special requirements and needs of a client to accommodate differ for every project. It became clear for me that JFA Yachts could offer the dedicated approach and versatility that was required to build this unique vessel. The mixture of JFA’s DNA on aluminium, composite, lightweight materials, together with the in-house production departments and the team’s passion for the sea made JFA the right fit.” He works with JFA Yachts project manager, Michel Siou.
