The 120m world voyager was made by Tillberg Design of Sweden and Laurent Giles Naval Architects in collaboration with DreamLiner Yachting and IYC. She has a sleek and well-balanced exterior profile and spreads across five-decks. The mark of the design’s Scandinavian roots is apparent throughout the interior, which is minimalist in style but luxurious in amenities, with five generous lounges and three dining areas offering guests ample space for relaxation, conversation and entertainment. Indoor/outdoor living is a fundamental element of the Scintilla concept, and wide panoramic windows feature throughout to maximize this experience.Scintilla is designed to accommodate up to 36 guests and 44 crew members. Guests are accommodated in 18 spacious guest suites situated on both the “pool deck” and “heli deck” levels, each of which continue the indoor/outdoor theme with plentiful views through large windows. The expansive, multi-level owners’ suite comprises the aft portion of the bridge and heli decks and opens onto a private deck complete with a hot tub and infinity pool. The yacht also holds six duplex guest suites. An impressive toy collection provides dedicated space for a seaplane, submarine, foldable catamaran, expedition RIBS, amphibious and land vehicles, jet skis, quads and a helicopter, each of which is selectively chosen for reduced emissions.Conceived as a forward-thinking concept that will wear its design well into the future, the cleverly configured Scintilla is planned to incorporate locally-sourced and eco-conscious materials throughout its interior and exterior spaces. U.K.-based naval architecture firm Laurent Giles is responsible for the yacht’s technical development, which is designed to accommodate hybrid engines as well as a combination battery and alternative fuel system to meet the needs of environmentally-conscious owners and minimize the yacht’s environmental footprint.“With this concept, we have anticipated the demands of future yacht owners, who will appreciate having a means to explore the world’s oceans responsibly within luxurious accommodations,” says Daniel Nerhagen, TDoS partner and Yacht Director. “Our aim for the exterior was to create a modern and sporty look, and also incorporate classic lines that will stand the test of time. Onda Tenders Delivers Its First 371GT Model
Greek-based Onda Tenders has delivered the new fully customisable chase boat following its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show.“We had requests for a larger version of the 331GT, which we launched a couple of years ago,” says George Riginos, CEO of Onda Tenders. “The smaller boat was quite beamy for its length, so it was quite a simple task to extend the hull to provide more onboard space and the 371GT has since replaced the original model.”Whether designed to offer sunbathing space or to maximise seating capacity, the generous beam coupled with high bulwarks make the GT a comfortable and practical boat to be used both as a day cruiser or chase tender. The hull is built of vinylester GRP, but the hard top that offers protection from the sun is of multi-axial carbon fibre for strength combined with low weight. The new model is fitted with twin Oxe 300hp outboards, the world’s first high-performance diesel outboard engines (although clients can choose their preferred propulsion system, inboard or outboard). In this case, the owner has a 56m Turquoise superyacht and wanted to be able to tow the chase boat behind the mothership as well as refuel from its diesel tanks.“Moreover, they were looking for an extra crew berth on the tender when in full charter mode, which ruled out inboard engines that would have taken up too much room,” adds George Riginos. “With the Oxe outboards we were able to design the aft sunbed so that it lifts up to reveal a crew berth underneath with headroom of 1.7 metres, so it doesn’t feel claustrophobic.”The 371GT is currently the largest model in the Onda fleet, but it is also working on a 14m hull and other custom projects.Onda shipyard was established in 1962 and is a leading Greek shipyard specialising in fast, luxurious motor yachts.Credits: Onda Tenders
