Aside from the recent buzz in the media regarding his probable ownership of the 136-metre Lürssen charter superyacht Flying Fox, the richest person in the world Jeff Bezos (Forbes) has been photographed on-board another Lürssen giant, the 138-metre Rising Sun, reports Bloomberg, in the company of her owner David Geffen and Lloyd Blankfein.
On Tuesday, David Geffen posted the shot on his Instagram account, with the caption: ‘Having a great time in the Balearics.’ On the shot, the company is joined by a group of people including Lauren Sanchez, the model Karlie Kloss and her husband, Josh Kushner, reports Business Insider.
Jeff Bezos’ net worth is currently estimated at $113.7 billion. Founded by Bezos in 1994 who has remained its CEO ever since, Amazon pulled in $230 billion in revenues and a record $10 billion in net profit in 2018, up from $3 billion the prior year. In addition, Jeff Bezos owns The Washington Post and Blue Origin, an aerospace manufacturer developing a rocket for private human access to space.

Hollywood's richest man and the co-founder/founder of film studio DreamWorks and record labels Asylum Records, Geffen Records and DGC Records, David Geffen has his net worth estimated at $8.3 billion. He is also known for sparing time for philanthropy, pledging $150 million to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art or donating to the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
With a reported net worth of $1.1 billion, Lloyd Blankfein remains CEO of Goldman Sachs. The company boasts nearly $1.5 trillion in assets for corporations, financial institutions, governments and individuals. In early 2018 it was reported that Blankfein would retire at the end of the year, but he distanced himself from the reports.
In the meantime, the total net worth of the three figures above is combined to over $123 billion.
Concerning the Rising Sun, not very much information has been known about the world’s fifteenth largest yacht, although she is frequently in focus of her owner’s Instagram activity. One of Lürssen mega projects, the superyacht was built in 2004, with design by Jon Bannenberg.
She cost $200 million to build, according to some reports. David Geffen had co-owned Rising Sun along with Oracle CEO Larry Ellison since 2004, before he bought it completely in 2010.
First and foremost, Rising Sun is defined through banks of windows across the superstructure. The yacht takes advantage of 8,000 square metres of living space across 82 rooms.
The vessel can accommodate 18 guests in nine cabins, with the capacity to carry a crew of up to 46. The interior by Laura Seccombe includes a gym, cinema, and wine cellar. One of the most distinctive hallmarks of the yacht, the rear cockpit deck, was designed as a basketball court.

In general, Geffen has been known for cruising the high seas with celebrity guests on-board, including Barack and Michelle Obama, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Hanks, reports Business Insider, while Oprah Winfrey celebrated her 65th birthday on the yacht. The pop star Katy Perry and the actor Orlando Bloom also were aboard Rising Sun last month.
According to the data from Marine Traffic, the vessel is currently located at the shores of Mallorca.

Part of the Ferretti Group, Italian sports yachts builder Pershing has announced the launch of its new TØ Project range of high-performance vessels.Along with the builder’s famous X range, the TØ project range and is aimed at the 25- to 40-metre market segment. The TØ project will be emerge from the collaboration between the Ferretti Group's Product Strategy Committee led by engineer Piero Ferrari, the group’s Engineering Department, and yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni. Noteworthy, the latter has been working with Pershing since the very first model.Pershing has been designing, producing and selling open, coupé and sport-fly luxury motor yachts for over 30 years. Dutch shipyard Icon Yachts has shared timelapse video of the 68.2-metre explorer superyacht Project Ragnar nearing completion in Harlingen. The vessel that had been initially built as an icebreaker called Sanaborg, entered Icon' shed in July 2017 for an extreme make-over.Built in 2012 with a steel hull, Sanaborgis is undergoing dramatic refit with interior and exterior styling by British design studio RWD. Final outfitting works are now underway on the vessel, with her delivery to take place later this year.The vessel’s owner is excited about her new style that was inspired by medieval war craftsmanship, combined with modern sleek lines and British heritage. She will be one of the few explorer superyachts with a certified ICE Class A1 super hull. Project Ragnar is LY3 classed with arctic explorer capabilities, full ice breaking functionality with its unique ICE class PC5 rated electric driven ice pods, giving the vessel its range of 6,000 nautical miles meaning she can go to the most remote areas of the planet.The yacht will offer accommodation for up to 16 guests across 8 cabins, including two owner’s suites. IYC brokerage has announced the sale of the 47.5-metre Bilgin superyacht Lilium. The vessel’s premiere took place during Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show 2019. The vessel asking €24,500,000 at the time of her sale, is now renamed Snow 5.Snow 5 was launched in Turkey earlier this year as the second yacht in Bilgin's 47.5-metre series, after her sistership Starburst III (ex. Nerissa). Built of steel and aluminium, Snow 5 is a four-deck full displacement yacht of 494 GT. She features exterior design by Unique Yacht Design and interiors by H2 Yacht Design.Snow 5 was initially named after the beautiful white flower since her interior has light colours. Besides bright colours in the living areas, the yacht’s main difference from her sistership Nerissa is certainly her galley. The layout changed in order to make it easy for the crew to move around without coming across with the guests. There is a pantry located between the galley and the living room. The vessel offers accommodation for 10 guests across a master suite and four spacious guest cabins. The master suite comes with in-house designed headboard, a skylight elevated above the bed and a balcony overlooking the water. Marble-decorated bathrooms of each cabin meanwhile add luxury feeling to the area.Two key guest spaces are the main saloon and the sky lounge surrounding a stunning art-like staircase.
