About Norge

Commissioned as a support vessel to Endeavour for America's Cup challenge, she was meant to carry Endeavour's larger rig to allow the sailing yacht to cross the Atlantic more easily on her own. Thomas Sopwith then sold the yacht to the King Haakon of Norway.Norge is a 80.00m (262.46 ft) luxury motor yacht. She was built by Camper & Nicholsons in 1937. She has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. This adds up to a gross tonnage of 1628 tones. She is classified by Lloyds. She is powered by MAN-Bergen KRMB-8 engines of 1760hp each, capable of reaching a maximum speed of 16 knots and cruise at 14 knots .
