Anthony Glasson, the visionary designer behind M51 Concepts, has introduced a new concept that seamlessly transforms a superyacht into a sailing vessel at a moment's notice.

Named Amplitude, this 91-meter superyacht combines the luxurious comfort and power of a motor yacht with the eco-friendly features of a sailor. The star of the design is the inflatable sail wings, which can be easily hoisted on demand. These wings not only enhance the vessel's performance but also significantly reduce fuel consumption by harnessing the power of the wind.

With the ability to inflate or deflate as needed, the sail wings eliminate the requirement for complex deck equipment such as winches and halyards. Glasson envisions integrating the wings with a hybrid solar-electric propulsion system, and he believes that one day they could potentially power a yacht of this size independently.

Amplitude takes sustainability to the next level with nearly 223 sqm of solar panels, providing a clean and green energy source for the yacht's battery banks. This innovative feature contributes to the vessel's impressive range of over 5,000 nautical miles, while also significantly reducing its carbon footprint compared to other similarly sized aluminum yachts.

M51's meticulous design extends from the exterior to the interior spaces of Amplitude. The futuristic and sci-fi-inspired aesthetic harmonizes elegantly with the use of traditional materials like wood and marble. The main living area on the bridge deck boasts vaulted ceilings, skylights, and a striking forward wall covered with immersive screens, offering a cinematic experience like no other.

The owner's suite, spanning the entire beam of the yacht, features a wall of glass and an exquisite in-room bathtub, creating a visually stunning ambiance. Accommodations include two VIP cabins and four twin cabins, providing ample space for up to 10 guests, along with separate quarters for the crew.

Outside, the aft deck boasts a large swimming pool, a spacious 12-seat dining table, and a lounge area. The bridge deck offers a hot tub, sunbeds, and additional alfresco seating. Other outdoor amenities include a dining area, a lounge, and a bar seamlessly integrated around the inflatable mast base. Of course, Amplitude is equipped with a swim platform and a fully stocked tender garage.
