The Italian shipyard announced the launch of the new Otam 70HT. With one-off design by BG Design Firm, as well as bespoke engineering and hull lines by Umberto Tagliavini Marine Design, the new Otam 70HT is the epitome of dynamic performance and timeless style.
“The design is strongly inspired by the aeronautical world and luxury sports cars,” says BG Design Firm studio. “It was essential to design the new 70-footer by taking into account the proportions and lines that have always distinguished Otam yachts.”
At 22.30m in length and with a beam of 5.40m and 21 degrees of deadrise, the 70HT is very seaworthy, spacious and comfortable for a speedy luxury cruiser of her size.
The first hull has a three cabin layout with an owner’s suite, two guests, separate galley and a crew cabin for two in the bow with independent access for a total privacy. Clients are free to choose their own layout and interior solutions.
The owner of the first Otam 70HT chose a cockpit and salon with sofa seating along the portside for hosting large groups. Another cool design feature is the up-and-down electric glass screen separating the interior lounge and exterior cockpit, specifically requested by the owner. The glazing completely retracts between the two C-shaped sofas and, when lowered, opens up the interior and cockpit to provide a single en plein air space so owner and guests can interact whether they are inside or outside. The new Otam 70HT offers a comfy sunbed on top of the transom tender garage together with a second generous volume sun bed on the foredeck, integrated in the center bow muscle.
“The owner himself designed a three cabin custom layout and he decided not to have a tender garage in order to maximise the beach club area and to optimise the weight for higher performance. In fact, no two Otams are ever the same. This is the uniqueness of the Otam shipyard, that chooses not to limit its customers' options but instead allows them to build their ideal yacht reflecting their personal needs and aesthetic taste”, says Matteo Belardinelli, Commercial Director for Otam.
A key feature of the interiors is the futuristic dashboard, also designed by BG Design Firm. It’s inspired by the aeronautical and automotive world and the design resembles the console of a jet fighter.
The first unit is powered by twin 2000-hp MTU engines coupled to Arneson drives and custom OTAM-Rolla propellers.
The first Otam 70HT will make its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021.
The shipyard’s history started in 1954 in Liguria. Its professionalism is what made it stand out, very quickly becoming the first authorized Riva yacht Service Center for the Med Sea. In the 80’s Otam fit around 25 yachts for an American builder before starting his own production of Otam 45’ and 55’, earning significant attention.
Today Otam has produced around 90 yachts, becoming an Italian specialist, and, together with its custom range, offers a limitless choice between 45’ and 130’.

Columbus Yachts has started building its new 48-meter Crossover model at Palumbo Superyachts' Savona shipyard. The steel-hulled explorer with aluminum superstructures follows two previously sold Crossover units (42m and 47m), marking the shipyard's first self-financed project in this series.Designed by Hydro Tec, the vessel features an 8.6-meter beam and 2.75-meter draft, optimized for stability and long-range cruising. The 34th Monaco Yacht Show will take place from September 24-27, 2025, featuring approximately 560 exhibitors across Port Hercule. The latest 80-meter Amels Limited Editions superyacht has arrived at Damen Yachting's Vlissingen shipyard in the Netherlands after construction at their Galatz facility in Romania. The vessel will now undergo full outfitting in preparation for delivery in 2027.Project Manager Danker Rijk stated: "After an impressive launch in our Galatz shipyard, we are delighted to welcome this Amels 80 to Vlissingen to commence the outfitting phase. This is an exciting milestone toward delivering another exceptional yacht on schedule."The 2,175 GT superyacht features exterior design by Espen Øino and interiors by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. Flexjet and Ferretti Group have introduced Riva Volare, a custom aircraft cabin design inspired by Riva motoryachts. The collaboration brings nautical styling to Flexjet's Gulfstream G650 jets and Sikorsky S-76 helicopters, targeting ultra-high-net-worth travelers.The Gulfstream G650 configuration accommodates 12-15 passengers for flights up to 16 hours, while two Sikorsky S-76 helicopters will operate in Florida and a new Milan-based service covering Italy and the French Riviera. Ferretti Group clients will receive preferential access to the helicopter operations.The design blends elements from Riva's 1960s Aquarama with contemporary Aquariva models, using artisanal materials and distinctive patterns. Italian shipyard AB Yachts, part of Next Yacht Group, has unveiled the AB 110S, a sportier version of its AB 110 model. The 33.7-meter yacht marks AB Yachts' first collaboration with automotive design firm EXE Design, incorporating elements such as a raked windshield and lightweight profile."We also boast over 20 years of experience in naval architecture. [And] this cross-sector approach is the real added value of our work," said Stefano Bedoni of EXE Design.Key features include multiple retractable systems: a sliding cockpit cover, a sunroof between the helm and saloon, and a hardtop that can cover either the helm station or sunpad. The main deck integrates a sunbathing area and a bar serving both indoor and outdoor spaces. A forward "flying couch" provides elevated seating with panoramic views.Powered by three MAN V12X-2200 engines, the AB 110S reaches 48 knots. The engine room is fully soundproofed to minimize noise and vibrations. No pricing or delivery details were disclosed.Italian shipyard AB Yachts was founded in 1992.
