Heesen has shared the shipyard’s latest news – the construction of YN 20150, code-named Project Oslo24, has officially begun. The owners and their family attended the keel-laying ceremony on October 4, and welded their ‘good luck coins’ to section three, where the IMO number was engraved. The ceremony was formally witnessed by a Lloyd’s Register surveyor who signed off this first stage in the yacht’s build.



The 50m yacht will be built on the platform of the 50-metre Steel Class. Project Oslo24 will be equipped with Heesen’s hybrid system, which offers indisputable advantages over traditional diesel propulsion. The owner, an experienced yachtsman, made this choice with the clear intent of creating a yacht that is cleaner, quieter and more efficient than comparable conventional craft.



“We were the first shipyard who dared to take the financial risk of building hybrid yachts on speculation and today, all our yachts are available with hybrid propulsion as an option. ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’ is our mantra. Today, that change is real. It is a pleasure to see that clients trust our systems and decide to implement them in their highly customised yachts to reduce their footprint,” says Friso Visser, Heesen CCO.



The Heesen hybrid drivetrain draws on diesel engines and electric motors, together or individually and in any combination, for both propulsion and hotel needs. In the automotive world such systems typically emphasise energy-saving and reducing emissions, but hybrid propulsion at sea has a broader set of aims. Silent cruising and minimal vibration enormously enhance comfort levels on board and are especially appealing during night passages.



The interior is made by Luca Dini Design and Architecture who creates an interior that incorporates plenty of fine details connected to their life at sea and the areas they will be exploring aboard their yacht. Contrasting dark, high-gloss and light matte wood finishes, with a ribbed canneté texture to evoke the forests, blend with soft leather in warm tones to create a snug environment to offer guests a refuge when the air is brisk and chilly outside.

“The owner of Oslo24 and his family are deeply involved in every aspect of this project,” said Stefan Zucker of Zucker and Partner, the owner’s representative. “For us, this makes it an even more exciting project.”
 
The heart of the system is the yacht’s twin MTU 8V4000 M63 (IMO Tier III) main engines, each one coupled to a water-cooled, 135kW Danfoss electric motor on the same propeller shaft. This streamlined configuration offers versatility, flexible power management, and redundancy, with three operational modes: Silent, Economy and Cruising.
 

YN 20150 Project Oslo24 is scheduled for delivery in March 2024.

Their design includes oak ribbing wood, which contributes to the yacht's longevity and creates a tranquil atmosphere through patterns of light and shadow.The Seadeck 6 features a composite hull and superstructure with carbon fiber reinforcements. Approximately 40% of the yacht's surface, including the deckhouse, roof, wings, bathing platform, and main deck, is constructed using high-performance, lightweight materials. This significant use of carbon fiber helps optimize the yacht's weight, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.The yacht's naval architecture, developed by Azimut|Benetti Group's R&D Department in collaboration with NAMES, maximizes efficiency at cruising speeds. The hull is designed to start hydroplaning sooner, reducing drag and broadening the speed range for optimal efficiency.The Seadeck 6 introduces the Mild Hybrid Zero Emission Hotel Mode, which uses a 42-kWh lithium battery pack and an alternator connected to one of the engines. This system allows the yacht to operate at zero emissions at anchor for up to 4 hours during the day and 8 hours at night. It also enables navigation with the generator off for up to 8 hours, enhancing energy efficiency.The yacht is also prepared for a Full-Hybrid system, which will debut with the larger Seadeck 7 in September 2024. This system will further reduce emissions and improve efficiency.The Seadeck 6 emphasizes the use of sustainable materials. Cork, sourced sustainably, replaces traditional teak for decking. Inside, carpeting is made from recycled materials (R-PET), contributing to a luxurious yet environmentally friendly interior. Camper & Nicholsons has announced the sale of the 44.81m yacht Forever, built by Logica Yachts in 2015. The transaction was handled internally, with Arne Ploch representing the seller and Fernando Nicholson representing the buyer.Forever is part of Logica Yacht's 147 line, designed by Studio Brenta. This steel and aluminum displacement yacht can accommodate 12 guests in six en-suite staterooms. First ISA Viper 120 Sold to an American Client
ISA Yachts has announced the sale of the first ISA Viper 120 unit to an American client, with delivery expected in 2026. This sale, facilitated by Zarpo Yachts, marks the second contract managed by the brokerage house, following the sale of the 42-meter Columbus Crossover.The ISA Viper 120 features a composite hull and superstructure reinforced with carbon fiber, spanning an overall length of 37.7 meters. ISA Yachts, with over twenty years of experience in the production of GRP sports boats, is known globally for its combination of performance and elegance.The cockpit of the Viper 120 is divided into three distinct zones. At sea level, the stern beach club features a multifunctional transformer that serves as a bathing step ladder and gangway. Two side steps lead to a large sun pad facing aft and a lounge area furnished with sofas and a coffee table. The two opening side balconies enhance the liveability of this area. The third zone includes an outdoor table that seats up to eight people, adjacent to an aft galley and bar with a versatile up/down tinted glass partition for various occasions, from formal events to casual gatherings.The interior layout includes a single port-side walkway to the bow to maximize space. Amidships, near the lounge, another opening balcony offers views from the indoor sofas. A circular swimming pool with sun loungers and sofas is located at the bow.Inside, a combined galley and bar leads to a bright lounge area with floor-to-ceiling windows, semi-circular sofas, armchairs, and a 10-seater circular table.
