Brazilian builder Sedna Group Yachts has announced that it has officially begun the production of its new Superyacht project ‘One Hundred Feet’. The vessel will enter the Brazilian superyacht arena, as the first one exceeding 30 metres in length.

Designed by Italian studio Marino Alfani Design for the Sao-Paulo based shipyard, the 30.4-metre superyacht was first sketched in 2017.
Originally conceived as a sporty boat, the concept has undergone a several changes over the months to better encapsulate the owner’s requirements for a ‘liveable yacht, on which recreation, pure and simple is more important than sportiness.’
As a result, this partially re-designed yacht has now been presented, scheduled for completion in 2020.
The designer of the concept Marino Alfani stresses:
I’d like my designs to be appreciated by ‘quality’ owners who are familiar with the sea and know how to recognise the value of a boat without stopping at appearances, because what counts is often hidden away," he continues. "All this can’t be seen as an obsolete concept, but as something that affects the purity of the idea of a boat and its forms, content and quality.
The new project will come with two alternative layouts, aimed either for Brazilian owners or the European market. The first option has been already sold, featuring open plan spaces among the living areas, the galley and the bridge for a more ‘recreational feel’. The second layout, aimed for the European market, would feature a more conventional arrangement stressing zone separation among on-board.

According to The Superyacht Times, the cumulative LOA of yachts delivered in Brazil so far amounts to 1258.7 metres. Currently, there are five yachts under construction in the country with an average LOA of 35.4 metres.
With the first ‘One Hundred Feet’ unit to be delivered in 2020, there are currently ongoing negotiations for the second and third ones.
