Built by Spanish yard Izar, 41.51-metre Foners was launched back in 2000. It was gifted by a group of businesses on the Balearic islands for the King of Spain - Juan Carlos I and his family, where the royal family has their summer palace and spent several weeks a year on holiday.

Originally named "Fortuna", she was built for maximum speed, as the head of Izar yard described her as formula one prototype on the water. The yacht is powered by twin 1,280hp MAN engines and triple Rolls Royce 6,700hp gas turbines with three Kamewa water jets. With a total horse power of 22,660hp Foners can reach a top speed of 70 knots (129 km/h).

As the Spain was suffering deep economic crisis, King Juan Carlos made a decision to release his asset. The yacht was listed for sale through Arrival Yachts for €10,000,000 in 2014, later got a nearly €2 million price reduction and finally was sold to Balearia Eurolineas Maritimas also in 2014. Fortuna was renamed to Foners.

With interior design by Celeste Dell' Anna and exterior design by Studio Spadollini, inspired by the aircraft design, the yacht boasts Aramid fiber lining to make it bulletproof, panelled wood with stitched tan leather, a beige carpet with Japanese accents and cream-coloured ceilings.
Currently owned by the Balearia Eurolineas Maritimas, Foners is based in Denia, Spain.
