Last week Sanlorenzo held a press briefing in which the shipyard shared the 2021 financial results and plans for the future. Massimo Perotti, CEO of Sanlorenzo has announced that the first 50m superyacht with hydrogen fuel cell technology will be built and delivered in 2024. This project is made in partnership with Siemens.
During 2021 Sanlorenzo has shown strong financial results – the sale of new yachts in 2021 were €585.9million compared to the €457.7mllion in 2020. The majority of sales occurred in Europe and North America, but it was clear that the shipyard also saw the potential in the Asia Pacific region.

The shipyard's plan for 2022 looks impressive: order book backlog at the end of January reached €1,003million, and Perotti points out that 90% of it have been covered by final clients. In 2022 Sanlorenzo plans to continue to strengthen its presence in North America and APAC and expand the shipyard’s range.

Miami Yacht Show will be the first nautical event to attend for the Italian shipyard. Sanlorenzo prepares to exhibit a selection of the fleet's characteristic models, including the asymmetrical yacht.
The fleet will include the SL78 and SL86, the sophisticated SD96 and the iconic SX crossover line. Asymmetry, a concept Sanlorenzo has been focusing on since 2018 when it launched the world's first asymmetric model, is back again in Miami with the SL106A, which had its world premiere in Fort Lauderdale last October 2021.

The yachts on display at the Miami Yacht Show are designed in keeping with Sanlorenzo's sartorial approach, and the shipyard's historic brand ambassador, Sanlorenzo Americas. The Miami Yacht Show, one of the largest nautical events in the USA, will take place from 16 to 20 February 2022.
Sanlorenzo was founded in 1958 in Viareggio by yacht builder Gionvanni Jannetti. In 2005, Massimo Perrotti became the majority shareholder in the shipyard. Sanlorenzo builds yachts ranging from 28.6 to 62 meters in length.
