The first edition of London Yacht Show organised by Informa and British Martime Group, has been announced postponed until 2020. The show, first presented in December 2018, was due to take place on May 8-12, 2019 at St. Katharine Docks Marina in central London. It has been rescheduled due to not enough interest from some industries and brands the show aimed at.
The event first known as London On Water Show, underwent rebranding in December 2018, renamed London Yacht Show. The original show, changed from a ten-day to a five-day format in 2018, had been previously held at ExCeL London.
The renewed event was to focus on the luxury end of the marine market. It generated interest and excitement in the industry, with many of the UK’s largest yachting brands signing up for the show and some luxury stakeholder’s pledging support, according to the Martime Group.

Since an initial burst of interest in the London Yacht Show, take-up has slowed from some segments of the industry and from luxury brands. And so, with just over a month to go until the planned launch, overall commitment to the event is not at the level required to deliver a show with the profile, scale and market breadth the industry asked for and deserves in London.
There was a line-up of more than 10 brands to exhibit at the show: Sunseeker, Princess , Fairline, Azimut, Bayliner, Bavaria Power & Sail, Chris Craft Boats, Discovery Yachts, Greenline, Hallberg Rassy, Malibu Boats, Sunsail Yacht Ownership and Sealine. The display programme was aimed to comprise over 60 vessels.
Keeping the venue as the historic St. Katharine Docks, the event was planning to host two floating villages with full size event marquees including a Platinum Pavilion, featuring luxury yachting and lifestyle products and a Monument Marquee, featuring boating accessories and toys.
From now on, the Maritime Group would be focussing on the 2020 edition of the event, added Williams.
It is worth mentioning, that the London Boat Show 2019, organised by British Marine and scheduled for January 2019, was also cancelled due to insufficient support from the marine industry.

Its owner’s suite is strategically located forward on the main deck. Equipped with a sophisticated hybrid drive system, the yacht can operate silently under electric power at speeds up to 6 knots. Additionally, a 882 kW diesel engine complements her 220kW electric motors, allowing for a top speed of 14.5 knots and a cruising range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots.To maintain the yacht’s clean interior aesthetics, modern design elements have been discreetly integrated, including hidden TV lifts in the saloon and master suite. As the Palma International Boat Show commemorates its 40th anniversary, it sets its gaze firmly on the future with two groundbreaking initiatives: an economic impact study and certification as a sustainable event. Organized by the Regional Ministry of Enterprise, Employment, and Energy, in collaboration with the Balearic Islands Institute for Business Innovation (IDI) and the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA), the fair opens today at Palma’s Moll Vell.The economic impact study, conducted in partnership with the Directorate General of Economics and Statistics of the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Innovation, aims to assess the fair's contribution as an economic driver for the city and the region. Simultaneously, the fair is pursuing certification as a sustainable event, committing to minimizing its carbon footprint and promoting responsible practices.With a record 295 exhibitors, including international companies, the event promises to showcase an array of quality nautical products across its 86,000-square-meter venue. Notably, the Palma Superyacht Village will feature a dedicated area for boats over 24 meters, complemented by the introduction of the Superyacht Square, emphasizing innovation and sustainability.As part of the anniversary celebrations, the Balearic Superyacht Forum, the first international superyacht forum in the Balearic Islands, will convene around 300 industry professionals, enthusiasts, and experts to discuss the sector's future. ISA Yachts reveals the initial glimpses of the ISA Custom 80 meters as it embarks on its interior outfitting phase. Designed by Espen Øino International for the exterior and Peter Marino Architect for the interior, this flagship project marks a new milestone for the shipyard.
